I know some people love PostAnyArticle (PAA). Many users of the site want it to have all the bells and whistles of other sites. The ability to add images to posts is one such bell and the ability to add links to posts is one such one such whistle. Sites that allow all or most of its users the ability to make posts public with little to no oversight have demonstrated clearly that such practices just do not work.
Too many users do not understand or do not care about copyright laws and image distribution licenses. Thus, too many users steal images to enhance their content and then get paid for it. It is simply irresponsible to allow that sort of conduct to run rampant on any site.
It
is my understanding that the image bell and the link whistle are NEVER
coming to PAA. I hope that is the case, because otherwise it will become
even more like other sites that have earned a reputation for
inappropriate use of images and links. Further, this will also hurt its
sister sites FullofKnowledge (FoK) and ExpertsPages (EP) and cause
unimaginable damage.
Therefore,
I hope that the Administrator will lay to rest the speculation that the
arrival of these sorts of sound makers are not simply being delayed,
but rather that they are they are NEVER coming to the PAA town. Those
that work to build credibility for FoK and EP via writing, editing and
performing administrative duties deserve to rest assured that a surprise
announcement, indicating otherwise is not under any consideration.
It
really goes back to the old quality vs quantity debate. The volume of
posts that spew out of PostAnyArticle's belly is vast and continues to
grow everyday. It will never be able to responsibly allow and manage the
use of images and links.
